Living Life In Full Bloom

by | May 28, 2023

Hey Dads!

Our peony bloom had me thinking this morning.

About eight years ago, when I was knee-deep in stress and trying to juggle it all in my life and business, I stumbled upon a game-changing concept from none other than Tony Robbins himself. It’s called trading expectation for appreciation, it completely turned my life around.

We often set the bar sky-high and tie our happiness to achieving those lofty goals.

And guess what? It usually leads to disappointment and frustration.

That’s why it’s time to shift gears and focus on appreciation instead.

Trust me, it’s a game-changer.

So, here’s what I want you to do: Start a gratitude journal. Every day, take a few minutes to jot down three things you’re grateful for. It could be the laughter of your kids, that Sunday morning pancake tradition, or even just a moment of peace and quiet looking at the blooms. Believe me, this simple practice will open your eyes to the incredible blessings in your life as a dad.

Now, I know we dads are often caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life. But here’s the key: Embrace the present moment. Stop dwelling on the past or stressing about the future. Take a deep breath, be fully present with your family, and savor those precious moments. It’s in those simple, everyday experiences that the real magic happens.

Here’s another thing, my fellow dads: Release the need for control. We can’t control everything that happens in life, and that’s okay. Embrace the uncertainties and find beauty in the unexpected twists and turns. Trust me, it’s a liberating feeling when you let go and go with the flow.

And remember, dads, we’re not perfect. None of us are. Embrace your imperfections, both as a dad and as an individual. Celebrate your quirks and show empathy towards other dads who are on this crazy journey with you. It’s in those imperfections that we find true connection and growth.

Lastly, take some time for reflection. Celebrate your wins, learn from your mistakes, and appreciate the journey you’re on as a dad. Take pride in the progress you’re making, both big and small. And don’t forget to show yourself some love along the way.

It’s time to trade those heavy expectations for a whole lot of appreciation. Start practicing gratitude every single day, and watch how it transforms your life as a dad. Trust me, you’ll be amazed at the positive impact it’ll have on you and your family.

Make it a great day as I often tell Bruno and Marcello.
