Remember the first time you hopped into your latest vehicle?
You were so excited as you sat tall behind the wheel.
One day your vehicle passed you on the road.
Then a different day you saw it parked at the grocery store.
You actually thought it was yours.
You even tried to unlock it.
You began to see it everywhere.
One day the driver of your vehicle waved as you passed each other .
Soon, similar ones, different colored ones, older ones, and newer ones, just appeared.
You saw them all.
I found that this is exactly how gratitude works.
What you begin to focus on, you see more of.
Your vehicle was always on the road.
It wasn’t until you noticed it that more of them just magically appeared.
Here’s a 7 day, 30 second challenge, starting today for you to magically see more of the good in your life, no matter the circumstance.
Write down (do not type in your phone) 3 things you are grateful for (anything, but especially the small things) on a notepad, napkin, back of junk mail, or a post-it note.
Do nothing else.
Keep this list where you will look at it frequently throughout the week. (On your dashboard, the bathroom mirror, near the coffee pot, on your nightstand)
Tomorrow morning simply take 60 seconds and add 3 more to that list…Repeat every day of the challenge.
One week from today, you will have 21 visible reminders of how awesome life is.
You won’t need a challenge next week, you will just begin to do it again and again.
You will be focused on your new attitude of gratitude and just like that new car that you keep seeing, you will begin to see gratitude at every turn.
Are you up for the challenge?
Would you like to see the amazing things in your life?
